coleman tent


When the kids were little and we began camping as a family we bought a two room coleman tent. We had hoped it would be large enough to house my husband and I, the kids and all our belongings. It worked out well.

That two room coleman tent lasted us for many years. The function of the two rooms changed as the kids grew up. At first, when they were still little enough to sleep with us, we used the one room as a family sleeping quarters. The other room was for the port-a-potty, our clothes and a changing room. 

When the kids became more independent the second room of that coleman tent became their "private" quarters. They must have thought there was a solid wall between them and my husband and I because some of the conversations we overheard were eye opening at best. I guess it kept us well in touch with what our kids were doing. We never used what we heard against them but definitely kept the information in the forefront of our parental guidelines! 

That two man coleman tent even lasted after the kids were camping on their own. My husband and I used it ourselves and it seemed too big without them along with us!
